This new addition to Huawei’s lineup brings some exciting changes, especially in design and functionality. Whether you’re into fitness tracking or simply need a reliable companion for your daily activities, the Huawei Watch Fit 3 has got you covered. Let’s take a closer look at what makes this smartwatch stand out from the crowd.

Huawei Watch Fit 3 Review with Detailed Specifications

Huawei Watch Fit 3 Design:

It’s been a while since Huawei released a new smartwatch, and the Watch Fit 3 has some notable design changes. The display is now square-shaped, similar to the Apple Watch, giving it more of a smartwatch look than a fitness band. The screen doesn’t have curved edges, but the bezels aren’t too thick. The watch itself is slim and lightweight, weighing just 26 grams, making it comfortable to wear. It comes with different strap options, and you can easily swap them out.

Huawei Watch Fit 3 Display:

The Huawei Watch Fit 3 has a bigger 1.82-inch AMOLED display, which looks sleek with its double rim design. The display is responsive, with no lag, and has a refresh rate of 60Hz, making navigation smooth. It has a high resolution of 347 pixels per inch, ensuring clear text and vibrant colors.

The screen can get very bright, up to 1,500 nits, so you can see it well even in bright sunlight. You can adjust the brightness manually, but the auto brightness setting works fine too. The watch has a rotating crown for navigation and a button for starting workouts. It also has an always-on display feature.

Huawei Watch Fit 3 Huawei Health App Setup:

To start using your new Huawei Watch Fit 3, download the Huawei Health app from the App Store on your iPhone or from Huawei’s website for Android users. Once downloaded, pair your watch with the app, which takes just a couple of minutes. In the app, you can customize settings, track health stats and goals, choose which phone notifications you want to receive on your watch, set alarms, and edit quick replies for notifications. You can also download additional apps and watch faces for your watch.

Huawei Watch Fit 3 Watch Face:

The Watch Fit 3 offers a good variety of watch faces to suit different preferences. You can choose from digital, analog, and animated designs, and many of them can be interacted with using the rotating dial. With its square display, you can see lots of information at once. If you get tired of the pre-installed watch faces, you can download more from the Huawei Health app.

Huawei Watch Fit 3 Watch UX:

The Watch UX for the Watch Fit 3 has been updated to be colorful, simple, and cool. From the main watch face, you can swipe down to access settings and toggles, swipe up for notifications, and swipe right for basic widgets like weather and media controls. You can customize widget pages to show fitness stats, stress relief, heart rate, and more. It’s pretty slick and easy to use, but not revolutionary.

Huawei Watch Fit 3 Notification System:

Notifications on Huawei smartwatches are pretty simple. You can choose which notifications you want to see on your watch, but when a message comes in, you can only read it. You can’t reply to messages directly from the watch, so you’ll need to use your phone for that. The quick reply feature works with some apps, but it’s not very advanced, and I didn’t find it very useful.

Huawei Watch Fit 3 Speaker & Microphone:

The Huawei Watch Fit 3 comes with a built-in microphone and speaker, allowing you to take calls directly from your watch. While it’s convenient for situations when you can’t easily access your phone, like when you’re busy with tasks or shopping, the speaker isn’t very loud, so it might be hard to hear in noisy places.

Huawei Watch Fit 3 Voice Assistant:

The watch supports Celia, Huawei’s voice assistant, but it only works when connected to a Huawei smartphone. However, if you don’t have a Huawei phone, you’re not missing out on much because using Celia can be a bit frustrating.

Huawei Watch Fit 3 Apps and Features:

The Huawei Watch Fit 3 comes with standard smartwatch features like weather reports, a compass, a flashlight, timers, alarms, and health tracking. You can also change the brightness and colors of the display.

However, there aren’t many third-party apps available, and the ones in the app store are limited. You can download a few alternative apps, but the selection is small. The watch lacks good notification support and doesn’t have contactless payment features like Apple Watch or Wear OS watches.

Huawei Watch Fit 3 Health Tracking:

The Huawei Watch Fit 3 has health tracking features like tracking active minutes, calories burned, and steps. It also supports various types of exercises, including gym workouts, martial arts, and running.

The watch offers over 100 activity modes, and more than 660 workout courses generated in the Huawei Health app.

For runners, there are additional features like metronomes, GPS tracking, and heart rate zone monitoring. The upgraded TruSeen 5.5 system makes SpO2 measurements faster and more stable, ensuring better performance.During workouts, the watch displays information on the watch face, including heart rate zones.

Additionally, it supports HR sharing with certain gym equipment. There’s also a calorie balancing tool, but you need to manually input consumed calories, which can be tedious.

Huawei Watch Fit 3 Sleep Tracking:

The Huawei Watch Fit 3 can track your sleep patterns, such as when you go to bed, when you wake up, and how much deep sleep you get. It’s pretty accurate most of the time, but sometimes it gets a bit confused. For example, when I was in Dubai, it thought I slept for six hours, but I only slept for about two. It also gives random advice, like soaking your feet before bed or eating beef and chicken to boost your mood. It can even detect naps that are at least 30 minutes long.

Huawei Watch Fit 3 Monitoring Irregular Heartbeats:

It keeps your heart under control with its advanced heart monitoring feature, which alerts you to possible irregular heart rhythms like atrial fibrillation and premature beats. Powered by a powerful sensor, it’s like having a personal cardiac assistant on your wrist.

Huawei Watch Fit 3 Battery Life:

The Huawei Watch Fit 3 has a battery that can last about 10 days with typical use, according to Huawei. However, in my experience, it lasted about six days with the always-on display active and regular health tracking. Charging it can be a bit tricky because of the magnetic dock, which easily disconnects if bumped. Overall, it’s much better than the short battery life of an Apple Watch.

Huawei Watch Fit 3 Price:

The Huawei Watch Fit 3 is a budget-friendly option that resembles the Apple Watch. It looks similar but costs a lot less. It’s only £139, or £159 for the white leather one. You can order it now, and it’ll be available on May 22nd.

In summary, the Huawei Watch Fit 3 is a good option for its price. It has some downsides like no contactless payment support and limited notification features. However, it excels in battery life, design, health tracking and screen brightness. It’s lightweight, comfortable to wear, and has vibrant colors. Overall, it’s a solid fitness tracker with decent features.
