Poco F6 Pro Review: I’ve been testing out the Poco F6 Pro recently. It’s a mid-range phone with great gaming performance, super-fast 120W charging, a high-quality 50MP main camera, and some downsides like having too many apps already installed. Let’s take a closer look at whether the Poco F6 Pro is a good choice for you.
Poco F6 Pro Review with Detailed Specifications
Poco F6 Pro Design:

Its design is somewhat similar to an iPhone but slightly less chunky, with a bit of curvature around the edges for a somewhat better grip. The front has Gorilla Glass 5, which is decent but not as good as the more durable Victus glass found in the regular Poco F6. A screen protector is pre-installed, and the bezels are reasonably thin.
The phone has a metal frame, giving it a premium feel, and the back is made of glass, although it’s not specified what type. After a week of use, the back showed no scratches or marks. The phone comes in black or white, and its unique pattern design might remind some of tiles. The matte finish helps resist fingerprints, but the glossy area around the cameras attracts dust.

Poco F6 Pro Performance & Gaming:
The Poco F6 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, paired with 12 GB of RAM. Despite being a bit older, this chip still offers excellent performance. Daily tasks run smoothly, with no slowdowns, even when using the camera.
For gaming, the Poco F6 Pro includes Xiaomi’s feature-rich HyperOS gaming mode, which boosts performance. Games like Genshin Impact run flawlessly on high settings, with stable frame rates. The 2160 Hz touch sampling rate makes the screen highly responsive, ideal for games like PUBG. The phone’s LiquidCool Technology 4.0 keeps it from overheating during long gaming sessions.
However, connectivity could be better. At home, signal reception was not as strong as on other phones.
Poco F6 Pro HyperOS and Features:
The Poco F6 Pro comes with Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS on top of Android 14. Xiaomi promises three major OS updates (Android 15, 16, and 17) and four years of security patches. The built-in optical fingerprint sensor is fast and reliable, with face unlock as a backup.
The phone offers plenty of customization options, including a truly always-on display that can be scheduled. The security app helps keep the phone running efficiently, and a block list feature removes spam. Xiaomi’s gaming mode boosts performance and blocks notifications.
During a week of testing, the phone had minor issues, like delayed notifications and the “Do Not Disturb” mode not working perfectly, but these were not major problems. However, the phone comes with a lot of pre-installed apps, which can be annoying. It’s recommended to delete these unnecessary apps to free up space, even though the phone supports up to 1TB of storage. Avoid loading certain apps like Snake Zone, as they can be very annoying.
Poco F6 Pro Camera:
The Poco F6 Pro boasts a triple-camera setup led by a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization. Xiaomi’s camera app has become more user-friendly over time, offering quick access to features like voice shutter and motion tracking. Pro mode allows for manual adjustments like white balance and shutter speed, while a 50MP high-resolution mode offers detailed shots.
In regular auto mode, photos are vibrant and visually appealing, though colors tend to be enhanced. HDR handles bright and dark areas well, ensuring balanced shots. In low light, the phone captures decent detail with minimal grain, though moving subjects may appear blurry.
The second lens is an 8MP ultra-wide shooter, delivering similar warm-toned photos as the main camera. The third lens is a basic 2MP macro camera, suitable for detailed close-ups but not ideal for zoom shots.

For selfies, the 16MP front camera performs adequately but struggles with backlighting and low-light conditions.
Overall, the Poco F6 Pro’s cameras offer good performance for everyday photography and videography, with some limitations in challenging lighting scenarios.
Poco F6 Pro Audio:
The phone has a stereo speaker setup with Dolby Atmos support, offering good audio quality, though not as loud as the regular Poco F6. In noisy environments, like a bus stand, it might be hard to hear clearly. There is no headphone jack, so you’ll need to use Bluetooth or a dongle for wired headphones. Wireless audio works fine, although you may notice occasional interruptions, especially in crowded places when using LHDC.
Poco F6 Pro IP Rating:
The phone is a bit slippery and has IP54 splash and dust resistance, so avoid dropping it in water.
Poco F6 Pro Battery:
The Poco F6 Pro has a 5,000 mAh battery, which is slightly smaller than the Poco F5 Pro’s but still offers excellent battery life. It easily lasts through long, intense days, providing 6 to 7 hours of screen-on time. This includes activities like using the camera, video streaming, video chatting on Skype, and audio streaming. If you need to recharge during the day, the Poco F6 Pro supports incredibly fast 120W charging, which can power the phone from empty to full in about 20 minutes. However, there is no wireless charging support, so you’ll need to use a cable.

Overall, I quite liked the Poco F6 Pro during my time with it. It performs well overall, but there are a few issues like too much pre-installed software and some minor compromises with materials. Despite these, it’s a solid phone with great features elsewhere.
