Detroit Lions star defensive end Aidan Hutchinson underwent successful surgery Monday on his devastating third-quarter leg injury sustained Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys but is without a timetable to return. Hutchinson got carted off late in the third quarter and Campbell said after the game Hutchinson did indeed fracture his tibia on a play but that he’d “be down for a while.”.
He totaled three total tackles, one sack, and a tackle for loss in the game prior to being injured. At the time he was carted off in the third quarter, Dallas was already trailing Detroit 34-6. Detroit finished Sunday ranked 10th in the NFL in points per game. A lot of that success has had to do with Hutchinson himself, who in his own right is a star and worthy of consideration for Defensive Player of the Year.

Hutchinson began his Week 6 slate in the NFL tied for third overall among all players in sacks with dragging closest to Za’Darius Smith at 9 and Chandler Jones at 8.5, as Hutchinson had logged thus far early in the season six tackles for loss, imposing himself further as one of the many few having that figure sack opposing quarterbacks more than once in games this year already. Okwara paced the league for ESPN in edge Win Rate on 3rd down with pressure last season, such pressure coming on a shade over one-third of his pass-rushers.
Injuries
That’s a tough blow, and he is one of the pulsebeats on this team,” Lions quarterback Jared Goff said to that end. “he ‘ll be fine you know he is going to make a comeback one day whatever that means but i do understand him much as I can tell, and I’m positive of it.” Hutchinson got Prescott to the ground when his left leg hit McNeill’s outside of and about six inches above the big toe area on a tackle as he crumpled into half (literally – see it) like an accordion.
McNeill added, “I’ve not seen it I can’t really comment on that. I thought it was him, someone leg-whipped me and I saw Hutch go down. That’s wild to see. I hate that for him.” Players from both teams created an oversize circle, encircling the No. 14 — but not Hutchinson until after a delay of about 10 minutes as he was attended to by medical personnel.

Stars teammates and Dallas players tapped their sticks on the ice and patted Gurianov, 24 years old, as he was loaded onto a cart with his right leg in an immobilizing cast. It was Hutchinson’s third sack on Detroit. McNeill had the first two.
Can they play?
“It’s hard, nobody wants that, when you stand there and he is one of ours and something like this happens,” coach Dan Campbell said. Walking that fine line between desired physicality and the potential for injury: “If you think about that too much, then you play a little timid, and when guys aren’t running at full speed. “So, the dudes snapped right back in and they maximized this moment, which all that we are on.”. And André Seldon hunched over from the pain while his right leg buckled, along with Gerald’s head, from a late hit. Hutchinson had Peter to Facebook profile pic safety and was bummed while stiff-arming Prescott, only for him to end up having an almost repeat injury but now on his left leg instead of the year-ending one-on his same spot ironically-that also got him last season.
Just something in the moment,” Prescott says Probably take his number from one of the Michigan guys in locker room and text again. In the moment; it all bleeds together. So, I don’t even know if he heard them. Don’t care if he heard them. I understand where he was.
