Sony Xperia 1 VI Specifications: Sony is moving to a “new display technology” on the Xperia 1 VI which is likely a new version of its BRAVIA engine which is also used on the 2024 lineup of BRAVIA TVs.
The more important bit is that the Xperia 1 VI will move to a more traditional 19.5:9 aspect ratio instead of the 21:9 ratio seen on all previous Xperia 1 models.
Sony Xperia 1 VI launch date:
Sony is expected to unveil the Xperia 1 VI flagship smartphone at its event on May 17. While we’ve heard a few things about it over the last few weeks, today a new rumor brings us more details, including the leaked renders you can see below
With just 2 days to go until the Xperia 1 VI launch we should be getting final teaser in the next couple of days before Sony unveils the device. Let’s Delve into the details of this upcoming smartphone.
Sony Xperia 1 VI Specifications: Design
First, it won’t have a 4K screen anymore. Sony is the only company that pushed 4K in smartphones and now there was probably no point insisting any further since every other flagship device that sells better than the Xperia. It could also drop the tall cinematic 21:9 aspect ratio in favor of 19.5:9
Rumours suggest that the vertical resolution will no longer be 3,840px. The Sony Xperia 1 VI will allegedly measure 162 x 74.4 x 8.45mm – that is 3mm shorter and 3mm (and a bit) wider than the Xperia 1 V, which is 165 x 71 x 8.3mm.

Speaking of the screen, it will measure 149.6 x 69.4mm. That works out to 19.4:9 aspect ratio and 6.49” diagonal.
Sony Xperia 1 VI Specifications: Camera
It will come with a 16mm ultrawide camera and 24mm main camera (48mm with 2x optical zoom), an 85-170mm telephoto zoom camera has also to boast.
The zoom camera goes further than the Xperia 1 V’s which maxed out at 125mm, but the other specs seem identical. The main camera of the Xperia 1 VI will support macro photography, and Sony will claim the image quality should rival that of its “full-size” cameras.
The big revolution will arrive in software, and after years of having multiple camera apps, this time around there will be just one new camera app, inspired by Sony’s Alpha series cameras apparently.
The Xperia 1 VI will also have “human pose estimation technology” borrowed from the Alpha series of it’s own. Letting you pinpoint focus on subjects even when they’re facing away or have obscured faces. There’s also going to be a new Video Creator app which will simplify and let you experience a smooth video production and editing.

Sony Xperia 1 VI Specifications: Processor
unsurprisingly we find the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, and the phone comes with a Game Enhancer, an FPS Optimizer, and a vapor chamber for better performance while gaming.
It comes with both IP65 and IP68 ratings for dust and water resistance. When it comes to water, the phone can withstand submersion, as most flagships do these days, but it’s also tested for withstanding water jets.
Sony Xperia price in India:
The Sony Xperia 1 VI comes in Black, Platinum Silver, and Khaki Green colours and is priced 1399 Euros (USD 1,515 / Rs. 1,26,500 approx.) / 1299 GBP (USD 1,635 / Rs. 1,36,620 approx.). It is now available to order, and will roll out in the UK, Europe and more countries starting from June 3rd.
